Liverpool fans make Ben Doak demand for Chelsea showdown as 'serious talent' catches the eye in FA Cup cameo

Liverpool fans are demanding to see Ben Doak given his first-ever Premier League start this weekend against Chelsea, following his latest eye-catching cameo for the Reds.

The teenage Scottish star has been catching the eye at Anfield since joining from Celtic last March and made his senior debut just days after signing his first professional contract in November, having turned out for the Hoops senior squad last January. The 17-year-old made his latest first-team appearance in the closing stages of last night's 1-0 FA Cup win away to Wolves, partnering Mo Salah in attack, and his lung-bursting runs have fans on social media keen to see him given the nod this weekend.

Doak was trending on Twitter into the early hours of the Wednesday morning, with supporters all posting comments along similar lines, with one fan tweeting: "Ben Doak is a serious talent. He gets you off your seat and the kid should start against Chelsea."

Another fan wrote: '"Ben Doak should start for the Chelsea game. I want to see how he plays for 90 minutes." A third punter concluded: "Ben Doak right now is better than every striker in the Chelsea team and I'm not even trolling!"

It remains to be seen whether or not Jurgen Klopp will turn to the youngster for this weekend's must-win clash, with the Reds currently sitting ninth in the Premier League table. They are a whopping 10 points off fourth-placed Manchester United.
