Liverpool fans love controversial 'Champions League decision' at Manchester Airport

A Man City fan's tweet showing Liverpool FC shirts front and centre in a Manchester Airport shop has gone viral.

The post by Dr Jon Bell showed Liverpool's home shirts and scarfs at the entry of JD Sport in one of Manchester Airport's terminals. Manchester United and England shirts could be seen further back.

In the tweet, the Man City supporter expressed his displeasure at the Reds being so prominent in the store. He told Labour Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham this 'needs sorting'.

However, Liverpool fans reacted with delight at Manchester Airport' s display.

User @ItIsWhatItisra said: "Carabao cup, tick, fa cup, tick, liverpool shirts at manchester airport jd sports storefront, tick, champions league, soon."

Patrick McGuinness tweeted: "This makes marketing sense. A lot of people have to travel via Manchester Airport because Liverpool Airport doesn't fly to as many destinations. They probably sell more than the Manchester shirts.

"Also we're in the Champions League final and City are not."

Jess added: "We sell our stuff everywhere because people everywhere want to buy. If there’s a demand then that’s what and where they sell."

And Gregg tweeted: "It’s actually marketing genius. Liverpool fans are flying to Paris this week from Manchester."

It's likely the shirts and scarfs have been placed at the store front due to the large number of Liverpool fans flying out to the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris.
