Liverpool's poor record of conceding the first goal in games continued on Saturday evening after a defensive mix-up involving Joe Gomez and Alisson Becker.
Indeed, Leeds United took the lead in front of the Kop just four minutes into the match through Rodrigo Moreno to punish an error from the Reds. Looking to play the ball back to Alisson, Gomez passed into the penalty area without spotting the position in which the Liverpool goalkeeper was stood.
After spotting Gomez's attempt to play the ball to his feet, a slip from Liverpool's No.1 enabled Rodrigo to score the easiest goal of his career as he accepted this invitation to break the deadlock by firing into an empty net.

Taking to Twitter, Reds supporters were left divided when declaring who exactly was at fault for this error at the back. Some suggested Gomez failed to check where his team-mate was stood before playing a pass into a dangerous area of the pitch, while others defended the English defender and instead pointed to the fact Alisson was stood away from his goal line and therefore failed to adjust himself accordingly.
