Liverpool fans have made Mohamed Salah feelings obvious as Kenny Dalglish and Steven Gerrard landmarks near

For the third year in a row, Mohamed Salah has been named Liverpool Fans' Footballer of the Year.

The Egyptian's adoring public never fail him and once more he scoops this particular gong after a calendar year where he again lead the charge for Jurgen Klopp's Reds.

After running himself into the ground for Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations in January - when he played a whopping 750 minutes in total between January 11 and February 3 before enduring heartbreak in the final via a penalty shootout loss - Salah made his immediate availability known to Klopp, featuring as a substitute in a win over Leicester just four days after defeat in Cameroon.

It was a telling moment that showcased his desire, hunger and dedication to the Liverpool cause and that continued into the closing days of the campaign as they played every game possible to clock up a mammoth 63-fixture term that ended with the Reds as only the fourth team in English football to have won both domestic cups in the same season.

For his part, Salah played 51 times across all competitions, finishing the campaign with 31 goals in total.

Two of those against Manchester United helped the Reds to one of their most memorable wins and complete performances in recent memory back in April, before he scored what could have been one of the most famous goals of all time at Anfield in the 3-1 triumph over Wolves on the final day of the Premier League campaign.

Salah's celebrations after making it 2-1 on May 22 suggested he thought as much at the time too, but Manchester City's three-goal salvo in just five minutes at the Etihad turned around their fortunes against Aston Villa and secured the title by a single, solitary point.

Further disappointment followed the week later for Salah as Thibaut Courtois turned in a Man-of-the-Match display at the Stade de France to ensure Real Madrid triumphed over Liverpool in the Champions League final on a dark night off the field in Paris.

Later that summer, Salah would be rewarded for his extraordinary achievements at Anfield by signing a new, long-term contract to become the highest paid player of all time for Liverpool. Fittingly, the club rolled out an elaborate social media unveiling from his holiday apartment in Mykonos to end months of speculation and delight the entire fanbase at the start of July.

Twenty-two goals scored across the calendar year have once again marked him out as the Reds' main man up top and there's a feeling that an extended break, afforded to him by the World Cup, will allow him to fly out of traps from Christmas onwards.

If Liverpool are to turn around their season and ensure they finish in the top four then an in-form Salah will be integral.

Five-and-a-half years on from his move from Roma, Salah remains the go-to man for Liverpool in the final third. Now eighth on the all-time list of scorers for the Reds with 170, the man from Nagrig will have designs on surpassing names such as Kenny Dalglish (172), Robbie Fowler (183) and Steven Gerrard (186) before even this season is done.

That is the kind of company Salah is being mentioned alongside now at Anfield.
