Liverpool equalled a Premier League record with a 9-0 win over Bournemouth at Anfield.
The Reds scored nine goals in the clash on Saturday afternoon to get their first win of the campaign. It is Liverpool’s biggest win in the Premier League era, and equalled records set by Manchester United and Leicester City in the same time.
A brace apiece from Roberto Firmino and Luis Diaz, supported by goals from Harvey Elliott, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Fabio Carvalho and a Chris Mepham own goal secured the victory. Elliott was forced to withdraw at half time, with no word yet over whether it was fitness related.

Plenty of fans had their say on Liverpool’s record-breaking win over the Cherries. Many of them were impressed with Carvalho’s performance.
Carvalho was introduced at half time in place of Elliott. His goal came courtesy of a volley after latching onto a pass from fellow substitute Kostas Tsimikas.
Liverpool’s next match sees them take on Newcastle United at Anfield on Wednesday night. The fixture also comes the day before transfer deadline day, with the Reds still being linked with signing a new midfielder.
