Liverpool supporters appear to have dusted off an old Kop anthem for the impending arrival of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.
As reported by the ECHO on Monday, Liverpool are hopeful of finalising a deal for the 2022 World Cup winner before he joins up with his Argentine team-mates next week, with talks between Anfield officials and their counterparts on the South Coast having taken place in recent days. It is also believed that the player's agent and representatives recently flew to England to set the seal on a deal to bring Mac Allister to Merseyside.
Taking to Twitter to react to the news of the progress in the deal so far, one supporter raised the idea of Mac Allister being honoured with the Kop anthem that belongs to the Reds' 2001 treble winner Gary McAllister.

McAllister was signed by former Liverpool manager Gerard Houlier in the summer of 2001 after his contract had expired at Coventry City, where he had spent the previous four seasons.
The 57-cap Scotland international proved to be a hit with supporters on Merseyside as he played an instrumental role in the club recording a historic FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup treble in his first season. The midfielder's side also became the first at Anfield to qualify for the revamped UEFA Champions League since the club's last appearance in 1985.
And despite leaving Anfield in 2004 after four years at the club, McAllister's name can still be heard on the terrace to this day with supporters regularly vocalising their love for the midfielder's "baldy head", penalty against Barcelona in the 2001 UEFA Cup semi-final, last-gasp free-kick at Goodison Park and plenty more besides.
On Monday, one supporter took to social media to devise a similar chant for the Brighton midfielder, who looks set to be announced as Liverpool's summer arrival in the coming days, tweeting: "The World Cup win, United pen ye ginger hair ALLLLY MACCCA, ALLY. ALLY, MACCA."
After enjoying a brief off-season break after Brighton qualified for next season's Europa League, Mac Allister is currently in Miami and will join up with his international team-mates later this month for Argentina's friendlies against Australia and Indonesia.
