Liverpool fans all make same Philippe Coutinho point as new signing shines in 5-0 win

Liverpool supporters believe Fabio Carvalho could develop into their side’s new Philippe Coutinho after he starred in the 5-0 win over RB Leipzig on Thursday night.

The Reds completed the signing of Carvalho back in May from Fulham after initially missing out on the midfielder on Deadline Day in January. Liverpool's move for Carvalho in January fell through after the Premier League side ran out of time to complete the deal.

Carvalho scored 11 goals in 38 appearances for Marco Silva's side last season, and since joining the Reds earlier this summer, has been part of Jurgen Klopp’s squad preparing for the new season.

And those preparations continued on Thursday night when Liverpool took on RB Leipzig at the Red Bull Arena in Germany. Mohamed Salah opened the scoring before Darwin Nunez scored four times in the second half.

Liverpool fans reacting to the win on Twitter believe that Carvalho has all the makings to be another Coutinho for the Reds.

Coutinho left Liverpool for Barcelona in a club-record deal back in January 2018, but has endured a difficult time in Spain as he struggled to recreate his Anfield form. The Spanish giants tried to sell the 29-year-old in the summer of 2019 but were unable to find a buyer and he ended up spending the season on loan at Bayern Munich.

Despite winning the treble, Coutinho's game-time in Bavaria was limited by injury and the Bundesliga giants decided against signing him permanently following his bit-part role. Given a second chance at Camp Nou by Ronald Koeman, Coutinho started the season well, but has not played since December after rupturing his meniscus.eventually fell out of favour and joined Aston Villa, initially on loan last January, before moving permanently earlier this summer.
