Liverpool drop worrying hint over three key players in new calendar

Liverpool fans are concerned over a big hint surrounding the futures of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk in the club’s official 2025 calendar.

The trio are all out of contract at the end of the football season and supporters are desperate for some good news about their respective futures.

Real Madrid have been heavily linked with Alexander-Arnold who has decided not to comment on his future.

Salah has been open on how this could be his final season at Anfield, amid interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Captain Van Dijk stated that talks are being held over a new deal but admitted his future is still up in the air.

While there is still hope they will extend their contracts, a particular detail in the 2025 calendar has raised concern.

Liverpool 2025 Calendar Sparks Concern

On one side, there is cause for optimism as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk all feature in Liverpool’s 2025 calendar.

The calendar was posted on social media by Times reporter Sam Munnery.

Though the eagle-eyed among us have spotted that they have been given February, March and April.

The suggestion being that should the trio leave, their faces will not be on the walls of Liverpool fans into the autumn and winter months.

This could be construed as Liverpool preparing for their summer departures by putting them at the start of the year in the calendar.

Other Liverpool players with uncertain futures are also included in the calendar.

Joe Gomez who looked set to leave in the summer, is the man for December 2025.

Federico Chiesa has been given June despite uncertainty following his quiet start to life at Anfield.

Other Liverpool players to be featured include; Alisson, Andy Robertson, Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Cody Gakpo and Luis Diaz.

What Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold And Virgil Van Dijk Have Said

Liverpool star man Mohamed Salah set alarm bells ringing even before the release of the calendar.

Speaking on Sky Sports after a 3-0 win over Manchester United in September, he said: “I had a good summer and had a long time to myself to try to stay positive because. As you know, it’s my last year at the club.

“I just want to enjoy it, and I don’t want to think about it. I feel like I’m free to play football, and then we’ll see what happens next year.”

Virgil van Dijk confirmed he is in talks with the club, but admitted his future remains up in the air.

“I can say obviously discussions are ongoing, but I don’t know, we will see what happens in the future,” Van Dijk said. “My full focus is on Liverpool, wanting to win games that are ahead of me and nothing else.”

Liverpool fans will hope the calendar doesn’t prove to be too accurate and that all three remain at Anfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold appears unwilling to discuss his contract situation in public.

The Liverpool academy star appears the most likely to leave, with Real Madrid heavily linked with a free transfer.
