Liverpool continue transfer policy as they plan scouting mission with Arsenal

The arrival of Fabio Carvalho is unlikely to mark the end of Liverpool's youth-focused transfer policy as the Reds look to bolster their ranks.

Jurgen Klopp's side have reportedly agreed a fee with Fulham for Carvalho, who is out of contract in the summer. Liverpool are set to pay up to £7.7m for the teenager, who they attempted to buy in January before running out of time.

The Portugal under-21 international isn't the only youngster to complete a move to Merseyside, with Celtic wonderkid Ben Doak on his way for a six-figure fee, following on from recent higher-profile senior signings including Luis Diaz and Ibrahima Konate. And Turkish talent Arda Guler could be next in line, with Liverpool scouts preparing to take a closer look.

Premier League title chasers Liverpool aren't the only team sending scouts to assess Guler, though. According to Turkish outlet Fanatik (via Sport Witness ), Arsenal and Bayern Munich are also keen on the teenage talent.

The Fenerbahce starlet only turned 17 in February, but was included in matchday squads at the end of last season. He has already got off the mark in the Super Lig this term, registering two goals and two assists in eight games.

Guler also featured in the Europa League at the age of 16, and was involved in both legs of Fenerbahce's Europa Conference League elimination at the hands of Slavia Prague. With his club set to play Galatasaray this weekend, scouts from Liverpool, Arsenal and Bayern are all expected to be in the stands.

Guler is yet to make his senior international debut for Turkey, but has four goals in 10 under-17 caps. The teenager scored his first club goal in a victory over Alanyaspor in March, registering an assist in the same game, and also netted from the bench in a 4-0 win at Kayserispor last time out.

The interest in the teenager comes with Fenerbahce fighting for Champions League qualification. Six wins from their last seven league games leave Ismail Kartal's side two points behind second-placed Konyaspor, with seven games remaining.

However, there have been other issues affecting the team, not least the situation around Mesut Ozil. Former Germany international Ozil was suspended with immediate effect in March, along with teammate Ozan Tufan.

Ozil, who joined the club from Arsenal in 2021, is under contract until 2024. However, with questions over his future at Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, a number of clubs are reportedly in the mix for his signature, including English side Hull City and MLS outfit Inter Miami.
