More than 400 Liverpool restaurants, cafés and fast food venues have been given a five star rating for hygiene - the highest possible score for a food outlet.
According to the most recent results on the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website, hundreds of the city’s eateries have received full marks from council hygiene inspectors.
We have listed 121 city centre restaurants (from postcodes L1, L2 and L3) that have been given top marks by the experts.
We have not included coffee shops, cafés, fast food restaurants or takeaways, but you can find the full list of ALL five star rated venues across Liverpool, on the Food Standards Agency's website.

The scores are done by local authority hygiene teams.
A health officer will look at three criteria types during an inspection:
- How hygienically the food is prepared, cooked, re-heated, cooled and stored.
- The cleanliness, layout, lighting and ventilation of the building.
- How the business manages what it does to make sure food is safe.
The Food Standards Agency says that to achieve a 5-star rating businesses must do well in all three elements.
