Parts of Liverpool's city centre are in complete darkness as a wide spread powercut hits.
Homes and businesses in L1 have no electricity this evening after a power cut. SP Energy Networks said they had no advance warning of the blackout which they became aware of at around 7.25pm on Thursday, January 19.
Pictures show much of the city centre is currently in darkness with streetlights not working. Trains do not appear to be affected by the power outage.

A spokesperson from SP Energy Networks said: "There is a power cut affecting the L1 postcode area of Liverpool. We had no advance warning of this and first became aware of it at 7.25PM.
"Our control centre will attempt to restore your electricity supply remotely, and we will also send our next available engineers to the area to find and fix the fault as quickly and as safely as possible. We expect the power to be restored by 9.30PM.
"The latest updates can be found on our website www.spenergynetworks.co.uk. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience."
