Liverpool chef Paul Askew is in the running for a top culinary award.
He is the chef patron of The Art School Restaurant. The Art School is one Liverpool's leading fine dining restaurants, offering customers culinary treats made with locally sourced food and globally-sourced beverages.
Paul's commitment to creating a unique dining experience is evident at the Sugnall Street venue, and even extends to major events he's catered in the city, like the Turner Prize Awards in December 2022, and this year's Grand National Festival at Aintree Racecourse.

Now, he's been named among the shortlisted chefs in the Culinary Hero Award category in the annual Craft Guild of Chefs Awards 2023. The winners in the prestigious awards will be announced on June 1 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
The awards seek to recognise the "exceptional talent" across the whole of the industry, from "apprentice and young chefs just starting out to chefs who are established in their careers in hospitality, pubs and restaurants".
Paul Askew has been recognised for his work as chef patron at The Art School and Barnacle, based at Duke Street Market. Sharing the news on Twitter, he said he was "honoured and humbled to be shortlisted".
Commenting on the awards, Steve Munkley, vice president of the Craft Guild of Chefs, said: "Championing and nurturing talent is at the heart of the Craft Guild of Chefs ethos, and what better way to inspire and encourage chef talent then by having them recognised by their peers."
