Liverpool next fixtures as Champions League route clearer after Man United lose at Brighton

Liverpool sit four points off the Champions League places after a stoppage-time penalty from Alexis Mac Allister handed Brighton and Hove Albion an important win over Manchester United.

The Red Devils rearguard was broken deep into additional time at the end of the second-half as the Reds-linked midfielder sent David de Gea the wrong way. Roberto De Zerbi's side were handed a penalty after an on-field review from Andre Marriner following a handball from Luke Shaw.

United are in fourth and are just four points ahead of Liverpool with a game in hand. Brighton are in sixth and four points behind the Reds, with two games in hand.

The Reds ground out a 1-0 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Wednesday thanks to Mohamed Salah's penalty, making it five consecutive victories in the top flight.

United visit West Ham United on Sunday, while Brighton welcome relegation-threatened Everton on Monday.
