Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp ready to agree to two transfer exits before January deadline

Nathaniel Phillips could be one of two Liverpool departures before deadline day with the defender desperate for more game time.

The centre-half was a regular last year but has played just three games for the Reds.

Injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip allowed Phillips to establish himself at the heart of the Reds' defence.

That trio have all since returned whilst Ibrahima Konate was signed in the summer.

Despite Phillips' lack of game time Liverpool do not want to sell him on the cheap.

Already they have turned down a £7m bid from Watford whilst West Ham have also been credited with interest, according to the Independent.

A January exit is still very much on the cards however with the player confessing last month that he has struggled with the lack of minutes.

"I want to be playing games,” Phillips told Sky Sports . “It's been tough because the competition to get in this team is fierce.

"The manager and I agree that the best thing for me is to play as many games as possible. I think you saw last year I developed well.

"I'm going to see what comes along [in January] and go from there.

"I think at this moment in time it's unlikely that I'll be playing lots of games for Liverpool, so if an opportunity arises where I get the chance to do that somewhere else and it suits everyone then it's certainly something I'd be interested in.

"I've had the exposure and experience in the Premier League and the Champions League.

“So maybe those situations where you're new and nervy, I've gone through that phase.

"I don't need to go through that process if I do go somewhere else. I'll be ready straight away to get involved and play."

Rhys Williams, who played centre-half alongside Phillips last year, was recently recalled from a loan spell at Swansea City.

He could go back out on loan but Liverpool want assurances regarding his playing time.

Neco Williams is another man who could leave Anfield with three teams keen, including one Premier League outfit.

The Welshman remains Trent Alexander-Arnold's understudy but the club are looking to send him out on loan with an obligation to buy.

Williams has played eight times this term in all competitions.

Liverpool are not expected to bring anyone in despite being linked with Porto's Luis Diaz, who would reportedly favour a move to Merseyside over Tottenham.
