Liverpool bar is serving a whisky so rare it will cost you £1k a shot

A bar in Liverpool is selling a whisky that is so rare, it costs nearly £1,000 for a single measure.

The Dark Spirits Bar in the basement of the Liverpool Gin Distillery, is now the only bar in the world where people can buy Karuizawa 1981 Noh Single Cask 35-Year-Old.

There are only three bottles of the Japanese whisky left in the world.

But if you fancy trying it you will need to brace yourself for a hefty bar bill - and perhaps think twice about ordering a double. The Darks Spirits Bar is selling the drink for £995 per 25ml shot.

It’s not the only expensive drink on the menu. The bar also sells Dalmore Astrum 40-Year-Old, which will set you back £600 per 25ml measure, and The Macallan Reflexion, which costs £115 per 25ml shot.

And if you haven’t got the budget of a Premier League footballer, the bar sells plenty of other more reasonably priced dark spirits from around the world, and even hosts whisky tastings.
