Liverpool's historic docks have retained their Blue Flag award - making it the only marina in England to receive this accolade.
A Blue Flag is usually a title given to beaches in Europe that are clean and safe, however, the Royal Albert Dock and Salthouse Dock have been awarded this accolade.
Announced by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, the awards acknowledge the management, safety and services of sites. A total of 77 beaches and one marina have been awarded a Blue Flag in 2023.

The Royal Albert Dock and Salthouse Dock host an array of wildlife including thousands of blue mussels, hundreds of eels and, during the summer months, thousands of moon jellyfish.
Meanwhile, 11 beaches in the North West have received a national Seaside Award. Beaches recognised include Blackpool Central and Blackpool South.
Keep Britain Tidy’s chief executive, Allison Ogden-Newton said: "Visitors to a beach flying a Blue Flag or Seaside Award can be assured the beach will be clean, safe and meet the highest environmental standards, as well as international bathing water quality standards.
"The Blue Flag is the world’s most recognised award for beaches and marinas and, to qualify, each applicant must meet and maintain a series of stringent environmental, educational, safety and accessibility criteria."
