A Liverpool city centre attraction has been named the most accessible in the UK for people with mobility issues.
Middletons Mobility has carried out the campaign which used information from Euan’s Guide Access Survey, the largest disability survey ever conducted, which looks at the levels of accessibility across UK venues and attractions. The study also included comparing TripAdvisor data and results from the Revitalize Accessible Tourism Report to create the top 30 most accessible attractions across the UK table.
Museum of Liverpool has earned the number one spot as the most accessible UK attraction, with five other Merseyside venues making it into the top 30. The campaign found that museums are the most accessible attractions in the UK, with 60% of them making up the top 30.
Art Galleries came in second place with 27%, Heritage Sites third with 7%, zoos fourth with 3% and attractions classed as ‘other’ making up the final 3%. The campaign also uncovered that the UK’s levels of accessibility have plummeted nearly 50% since 2019.
Middletons Mobility looked at customer reviews, data regarding the levels of accessibility within each venue, and visuals that show the most accessible attractions and locations nationwide. The following factors were considered within the study:

The overall accessibility of the attraction/access to the venue

Price/level of concessions for people with disabilities and their carers.

Number of wheelchair/mobility scooters/mobility aid adaptable ramps and lifts.

Number of disabled toilets.

Number of disabled parking spaces.

Hoist availability.

Number of staff with disability awareness training.

Clarity of accessibility information online.
The other five Liverpool attractions that made it into the top 30 are the Maritime Museum, World Museum, International Slavery Museum, Walker Art Gallery and Tate Liverpool. You can view the full top 30 table here.
