Liverpool have announced that Divock Origi will leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer.
The Reds have also confirmed that six other players will depart including several Academy players as they publish their end of season retained list with Origi amongst those to go. The Belgium international has written his name into Liverpool folklore with some important goals over the years.
Having arrived from Lille in 2014, Origi was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 side for a season to gain more first-team experience. He made his Liverpool debut as a substitute against Manchester United in September 2015 and would go on to score 10 times during his maiden campaign in England.
After spending a season on loan at Wolfsburg in 2017/18, Origi returned to Liverpool and played a massive part in one of the most famous nights in the Reds' recent history. He netted a brace in the Champions League semi-final second-leg against Barcelona, where the Reds came from three goals behind to win 4-3 on aggregate.
Origi later scored in the final as Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 in Madrid, as he lifted his first honour at the club. Having penned a new three-year contract that summer, Origi went on to score six goals to help the Reds to their first Premier League in 30 years.
He has also also toasted glory in the FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Emirates FA Cup and Carabao Cup in recent years. In total, Origi scored 41 goals in his 175 appearances for the club.
Meanwhile, Karius will also depart the Reds when his contract runs this summer. The goalkeeper joined Liverpool from Mainz in 2016 and featured 49 times in total with his last-ever appearance coming in the Champions League final defeat against Real Madrid four years ago, where his mistake allowed Karim Benzema to score the opener.
The German then spent time on loan with Besiktas and Union Berlin for three seasons before returning to the Reds to be a apart of the goalkeeping group at the club's training ground last term. The 28-year-old has been linked with a move back to the Bundesliga as he searches for more game time.
Sheyi Ojo is another player to leave the Reds after he clocked up 13 senior appearances following his move from MK Dons in 2011. He spent a number of years in the club's academy before making his debut in 2015.
But the 24-year-old has spent the last five seasons out on loan with with Fulham, Stade de Reims, Rangers, Cardiff City and Millwall. Ojo's most prolific spell came at Rangers, where he scored five goals in 19 league games.
The final senior player to leave the Reds is Ben Woodburn, who was once tipped to become the next brightest prospect in the Premier League but failed to cement a regular spot in the Liverpool side. He was awarded as the club's Academy Player of the Season in 2016/17 after becoming the youngest goalscorer in the Reds' history with a strike against Leeds United.
Like Ojo, Woodburn has spent the last couple of years out on loan, having plied his trade at Sheffield United, Oxford United, Blackpool and Hearts. He leaves the Reds after making just 11 senior appearances.
At the Academy, Elijah Dixon-Bonner, Luis Longstaff will both leave the club having made senior appearances in both domestic cup competitions, while Sean Wilson will also be available to find a new club.
