Liverpool and Man City first six Premier League fixtures compared as title battle awaits

If last season is anything to go by, supporters can expect a title race with plenty of twists and turns.

Manchester City looked to have the Premier League wrapped up by the turn of the year but Liverpool clawed their way back into contention courtesy of a scintillating run of form in the second half of the campaign. The two teams are regarded as the clear favourites to finish in the top two, again, although it remains to be seen as to who will come out on top overall.

Setting such high standards for the rest of the division in recent years has ensured that dropping points against any side is now viewed as a major issue, given both teams are demanding near perfection from one another in their quest for top-flight dominance.

Both City and Liverpool have a relatively attractive start to the season. Jurgen Klopp's men face Fulham and Crystal Palace in their first two matches, while Pep Guardiola's team take on two newly-promoted sides in quick succession. Making an early impression within the league is key to any title bid and will likely be the case once again as attention shifts to the 2022/23 campaign.
