Bayern Munich are preparing to launch a second bid in an attempt to sign Sadio Mane from Liverpool this summer.
The German giants' first offer was in the region of £21million plus a further £4.6m in add-ons which included if Bayern won the Champions League during his time at the club. However, the Mail have reported that their initial offer was rejected by Liverpool with the Reds hoping for a more advanced fee.
It is now understood Bayern's new bid will be around £30million for the Liverpool forward. This is still way short of the Reds' asking price which is near the £42.5million mark as they search for a replacement for Mane.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a move away from Liverpool after six years at the club and has previously hinted his long-term future could lie outside of Anfield. He has one year left on his current deal at the Reds and it is looking unlikely he will sign a new contract.
It is claimed that, despite the initial rejection and struggles to negotiate a fee, both parties expect an agreement to be reached and there are high hopes from Bayern that they will eventually meet Liverpool's demands.
Earlier this week, Mane suggested he will follow the wishes of his nation's fans by leaving the Reds. "I respect the fans and team but 60 to 70 per cent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool? I'll do what they want," Mane said.
However, he later insisted he was "joking" with those comments and maintains full respect for Liverpool. His exit would end a sparkling stint on Merseyside during which he has scored 120 goals in 269 matches.

Bayern president Herbert Hainer discussed his side's potential swoop, telling German outlet BILD : "If we really want a player, we are able to get him. But he has to suit us."
Real Madrid and Juventus are also said to be interested in a move for Mane but his preferred destination appears to be Germany and Bayern. With Robert Lewandowski set to depart the club for Barcelona in the summer transfer window and Serge Gnabry linked with a switch away, Mane would bolster their forward line and add some extra firepower up front.
The Mail also claimed that Mane has supposedly already asked Liverpool teammate Thiago if he can move into his house in Munich if he joins Bayern this summer. This has thrown his future into further doubt and it is looking all the more likely that Mane will be leaving Anfield to sign for Julien Nagelsman's side.
