Sections of two Merseyside motorways have been closed due to police incidents.
North West Motorway Police announced incidents at Tarbock Island and the Moreton Spur at around 9pm tonight (July 17.) Dramatic video footage shared with the ECHO shows a heavy police presence at Tarbock Island, where the M62 meets the M57.
The video appeared to show a helicopter hovering above the scene. Several emergency vehicles were parked up in the closed slip road off the M62 leading to the northbound section of the M57.

In a statement on social media police said: "Due to ongoing police incident, police and highways have closures around the M62 jct 6, westbound leading on to the M57 northbound likely to be closed for a period of time, please try and avoid the area."
Police told the ECHO there was an "ongoing police incident which was in its infancy."
Police have also said there has been an incident at the Moreton Spur junction in Wirral. The force said: "Due to an ongoing police incident we have full closure of the M53 both directions around jct 2, including the Moreton spur please try and avoid the area if possible."
Drives have been urged to avoid both junctions if possible. The ECHO will bring you more information about both incidents tomorrow.
