LIV Golf Series: Full player list and teams as Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson headline debut event

The 48-man field for this week’s inaugural LIV Golf Series event in London has been confirmed as players step into the unknown at Centurion Club.

After months of rumours, threats and comments from Greg Norman, the Saudi-backed series gets underway with the first of eight events scheduled for 2022.

Phil Mickelson’s participation was only confirmed on Monday night, with the 51-year-old reportedly signing a contract in the region of $200m to be a part of the breakaway events. Dustin Johnson and Kevin Na have both resigned their membership of the PGA Tour ahead of competing this week, with Sergio Garcia and Louis Oosthuizen believed to have done the same.

Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Richard Bland are among the English contingent competing on home soil while Talor Gooch, who won his first PGA Tour event last November, is a surprise name making the trip across the Atlantic. One man not involved is Tiger Woods, who Norman confirmed turned down a “high nine digits” offer to join the series.

A draft took place on Tuesday night, splitting the 48 players into 12 teams of four.

Here’s the full field and teams for this week’s inaugural LIV Golf Series event...
