LIV Golf prize money standings as Saudi-backed series visits Asia for first time

The LIV Golf Series is back on the road this weekend, as it makes its first trip to Asia to compete at Stonehill Golf Course, just North of Bangkok, Thailand. Amid all the controversy off the course, on it the series has seen five events take place - one in the UK and four in the United States.

Each week the eye-watering £22 million prize is on offer across both the individual and team event, with a clear front runner already prevailing in the money list. One of LIV's biggest coups Dustin Johnson is the man leading the way five tournaments in.

Whilst having one individual top prize to his name following a win in Boston, Johnson has also won four consecutive team titles alongside his 4 Aces teammates Talor Gooch, Patrick Reed and Pat Perez.

Across the five tournaments the 2020 Masters champion has won a staggering £11.7 million across both the individual and team competitions. This leaves Johnson in pole position to take home the eye-watering £15.8 million prize that is on offer to the player leading the series standings come its final event in Miami at the end of this month.

The American star sits pretty at the top of the money list, with the man behind another one-time fellow winner in Branden Grace. Grace prevailed in LIV Golf's second event of its inaugural season in Portland after finishing third in the opener at Centurion.

Since then the South African has not finished outside the top 20, leaving him second having earned £6.9 million so far. The man in third has similarities to both men ahead of him in being a former Masters champion like Johnson and a South African like Grace, Charl Schwartzel.

Schwartzel wrote himself to LIV Golf's brief history books, becoming the first man to win an event when prevailing at Centurion this summer. Since then the South African has neatly topped up his earnings and is third on the money list with £5.6 million.

Can Dustin Johnson continue his run in Bangkok? Let us know in the comments section below.
