LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman has called on his rivals at the PGA Tour to 'sit down and talk', as the former world No. 1 looks to bring an end to golf's ongoing civil war.
Since forming last summer, LIV has found itself in an ugly battle with the PGA Tour, with both battling to be professional golf's top circuit. The rivalry began after LIV lured in a number of the sport's biggest names with mega-money deals.
In response the PGA Tour were quick to hit back, as commissioner Jay Monahan issued a suspension to each LIV rebel just moments after the breakaway circuit's opening tee shots were hit.
Since then the two rivals have traded blow for blow, which has eventually led to their battle becoming a legal one. Norman has found himself as one of the saga's leading protagonists, with the Aussie CEO never far from the centre of golf's ongoing drama.
Now though Norman is seemingly out to call a truce with Monahan and co nearly a year on from when battle lines were drawn. Asked if it was time for the two tours to settle their difference, he told the Daily Telegraph : "Yeah, maybe we should sit down and talk.
"It’s going to happen somehow and somewhere down the line. And why shouldn't it be sooner rather than later? They must realise by now that we aren’t going away.” The idea of the Saudi-backed series going toe-to-toe with the PGA Tour 12 months ago was nothing more than a pipe dream for Norman and his team.
Whilst LIV is still yet to be the perfect product, the breakaway circuit has more than exceeded the expectations of many. And following their rise, Norman has claimed there are no plans to slow down any time soon: "We will continually keep going forwards.

"I have a list of players who want to join - names that will honestly surprise you - but there are contracts that have to be honoured and we will do this responsibly. We have relegation and promotion in place and it’s all going to plan. I think we’ll soon have world ranking points at our events, because otherwise those rankings become obsolete.
"They’ve already suffered immensely from us being shut out... There's no doubt they're trying to do everything in their power to shut us down. It's not going to happen. The quicker they acknowledge that, the quicker they just come to make the internal decision within themselves."
