Wales qualified for a first World Cup since 1958 as 64 long years of waiting was finally put to rest. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, few could process an achievement that most below a certain vintage had never seen with their own eyes.
That goes for the players too, with Rob Page's tired stars doing their best to sum up qualification for Qatar while those in the stands and at home simply sought to rationalise matters. But even they could hardly believe that the Welsh sporting box that was perhaps craved more than any other had finally been ticked again after over half a century.
"Unbelievable," said an incredulous Aaron Ramsey to Sky Sport afterwards. "Little old Wales in a World Cup, eh?
"To get to three major tournaments and top it off with a World Cup, it's something else."
His team-mate Connor Roberts could scarcely believe it as well. The Burnley full-back admitted it was something he never thought he'd achieve.
"I never thought I'd play at a World Cup," he added during the same post-match interview. "It's unthinkable to be honest."
Tottenham defender Ben Davies, who made a number of key interventions in another fine performance for his country, was quick to praise the team spirit that has been forged in recent years after qualifying for their third major tournament in six years.

"It's incredible," he told Sky Sports. "It's a dream come true.
"As a squad, we've worked so hard for this. The boys aren't playing every week and we may not have the most talent but we give it everything we got.
"Tonight was another example of that."
