Little Mix's Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock break down in emotional last show before break

Little Mix performed their final show together last night (April 14) before taking a hiatus to pursue solo careers, and things got very emotional. Bandmates Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock struggled to keep it together in front of their fans during the last performance of their Confetti tour at London's O2 Arena.

The three members of the girl band, who formed on The X Factor in 2011, were in floods of tears and found it difficult to sing in their last gig, which was streamed globally online so fans across the world could tune in.

Perrie Edwards, 28, said she had a “constant lump” in her throat and began crying just minutes into the show. Thanking the crowd – many of who were also in tears – Edwards said: “Every single one of you has made such a big impact on our lives and we wouldn’t be standing here now if it wasn’t for you. I need to get my s**t together, I’m so sorry.”

In December 2021 Little Mix confirmed that after 11 years together, they would be taking a break at the end of their Confetti tour. Whilst reassuring fans that this was not a break-up, the popstars said that they want to work on other projects but that they have plans for more music, tours and performances in the future.

Before performing their final song Between us, Perrie told Little Mix fans, “It’s about our journey, it’s about our love for each other, and we never get through it without crying,” she said. “Can you help us sing this next one?”

The emotional, closing song saw the bandmates huddled together on stage alongside their dancers as they sang to their fans one final time, and there was not a dry eye in the arena.

Long stretches of the song were silent as the band mates couldn't find the words to sing, and instead turned their microphones to the fans to belt out the words.

Throughout the show there was no mention of Jesy Nelson, a founding member of the group, who left in 2020 after revealing that her time in the band had taken a toll on her mental health. This then forced Little Mix to become a trio, with Perrie, Jade and Leigh-Anne vowing to keep Little Mix going.

Last year Jesy revealed that she was no longer on speaking terms with her former bandmates, but added there was “no bad blood from my side”.
