Little Mix fans fume as band appear in last interview on The One Show

Little Mix fans are just days away from the gutting moment their idols part ways after they announced in December that they would be "taking a break" following 10 years together.

After touring up and down the country for the last few weeks in their Confetti tour, Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall will perform together at London's O2 Arena on Saturday (May 14) for what will be the last time - for now - which will be live-streamed across the globe.

The trio appeared on The One Show on Tuesday night (May 10) live from Nottingham ahead of their latest show in what will be their final interview before they go their separate ways. And their chat with hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas soon got emotional.

Asked by fans what they would miss most about being in a band, Jade said: "Oh gosh, don’t start me off, I’m already emotional. Everything, honestly everything. We honestly cry laughing every day, don’t we?"

Struggling to hold back tears, she continued: "We do genuinely spend all of our time together, so I think we’ll just miss that – each other’s company and being on stage together. That sisterhood is always going to stay obviously but I’ll miss them being next to me 24/7."

As their current journey comes to an end, Leigh-Anne said the band’s final few shows have been "incredible" before adding: "We don’t want it to end, how is it coming to the end so soon? It’s sad but they’ve been amazing."

But prior to and after the girls appeared live via video link on the BBC One magazine programme, some fans of Little Mix were left pretty annoyed.

@Kocka_ tweeted: "#TheOneShow have said "We'll talk to Little Mix but not just yet" like 5 times already HONESTLY." @ThLittleAngels said: "15 minuites left of the One Show and Little Mix are STILL NOT ON #LittleMix #TheOneShow."

@_pickering1 complained: "An 8 minute interview?! We spent more time watching about f*****g farms! #littlemix #TheOneShow."

"Love that Little Mix fans have tuned in for the interview but are being forced to watch a documentary on agriculture. Peak One Show this #TheOneShow," @Wriggy commented.

@JayHBaker94 also shared: "Are they trying to make little mix cry by repeating it's the last interview? #TheOneShow."

The trio announced their break back in December 2021, months after Jesy Nelson quit the band. "We wanted to let you all know that after the Confetti tour in April/May next year we are going to be taking a break from Little Mix," they said in a statement.

"It’s been 10 amazing years, a wonderful non-stop adventure, and we feel the time is right to take a break so we can recharge and work on some other projects. We can’t thank you enough for your love and never-ending support since the beginning. We love you all SO much."

The girl band released new album Between Us to mark the 10-year anniversary of the band’s formation. They were formed on The X Factor in 2011, and made history by becoming the first group to win the competition. However, their hiatus comes after Jesy Nelson announced her exit from Little Mix in December 2020, saying the high-profile role had “taken a toll” on her mental health.

She had spoken openly about her battle with anxiety and revealed in a BBC documentary that abuse on social media got so bad she attempted to take her own life.
