You don’t often come across restaurants that look like a house on the outside, only to reveal absolutely delicious food on the inside.
I’d passed 107 Dining Room in Heswall many times in the car, and it took me a while to realise it was actually a restaurant considering how it looks.
Many may not even know it's there because of its appearance, which is why the restaurant totally intrigued me.
The reviews on TripAdvisor were all very positive, with many visitors praising the service and value for money.

Labelling itself as ‘one of the finest restaurants in Heswall’, I felt it was about time I tried it for myself.
After a quick glimpse at the menu before visiting, I was impressed at the range of deals on offer.
It was time to tuck in.
The atmosphere
As soon as I stepped into 107 Dining Room I was greeted with a friendly smile, and taken to my table instantly.
It was warm, cosy, and almost felt like I was in someone's house with a warm fire and staircase leading up to my table.
Although the restaurant was small, it was almost like a TARDIS as you stepped inside, with plenty of tables and a buzzing atmosphere.
It was clear this place was very popular among locals, and I was going to find out why very soon.
The menu
Let’s talk about the menu, because wow, it’s extensive.
At lunchtime on a Wednesday - Saturday between 12-4pm you can get two courses for £17.95, or three courses for £21.95.
On an evening from 4-9pm or a Sunday 12-8pm you can get two courses for £22.95 or three courses for £26.95.
I chose the Sunday deal and chose two courses for £22.95, and I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting incredible quality purely because of the deal, and it was busy.
The menu was crammed with main meals, around 17 to be exact, not forgetting the 11 starters and side orders.
The food
Now onto the main act, the headliner, the pièce de résistance - the food.
To start with, I chose the grilled bury black pudding topped with mini potato rosti, a beautifully soft poached egg and a thick hollandaise sauce.
Everything about this dish was Insta-worthy, it was a dream for yolk lovers, with the black pudding really complementing the dish.
My partner opted for the smooth duck and orange parfait with orange chutney and toasted sourdough, and was thoroughly impressed.
Whenever you’re out for a meal and it starts off with an incredible appetiser, you know you’re onto something special.
In terms of mains I chose the veggie goat's cheese spaghetti with pesto, asparagus, sun dried tomatoes and pine nuts.
I don’t usually choose vegetarian options, but this dish stuck out to me, and I’m so glad I opted for it.
The spaghetti was fresh and the pesto and pine nuts added a real tang to the meal, and don’t even get me started on the goat's cheese.
It added a luxurious taste to the dish, because everybody loves cheese, right?
The second main we ordered was a juicy steak frites with rocket and a blue cheese sauce - another triumph.
We were left feeling full and incredibly satisfied with the sheer quality of the food, you could definitely tell they were locally sourced, good quality ingredients.
The verdict
To put it bluntly, if you haven’t experienced 107 Dining Room yet, you need to. Trust me.
The incredible food combined with the quirky building made our experience a special one, which is sometimes hard to find in local restaurants these days.
It was busy, yes, but the service was still spot on and quick with piping hot food to match.
For me, this restaurant in Heswall stands out from the rest, purely because of it’s huge menu choice and incredible value for money.
The deliciously poached egg helped sway my decision too!
