Little known Edinburgh hack to charge your phone on Princes Street

Street Assist Edinburgh have shared a relatively unknown hack for anyone running out of phone charge on a night out.

The charity, which is committed to keeping people safe during the night time economy hours in the capital, posted a photo that shows how you can charge your phone on a Lothian bus stop.

This could be a life saver for clubbers and pub goers that have found that their battery has drained during their attempts to capture their night out.

Having the ability to charge your phone on your way home means that individuals will be able to check-in with friends during their journey home or even to order a taxi to ensure they get home safely.

The charging ports can be found in a number of bus stops that are spread throughout Princes Street.

City centre visitors will only require a charging cable with a USB port that is compatible with the port in order to use the free service.

In a Tweet, Street Assist said: “Did you know that bus stops in Princess Street, #Edinburgh has charging points?

“If you take your charging cable with you, this can be plugged in to charge your mobile phone!

“And it's FREE!

“This may be of use to help arrange a safe route home.

“#HereToHelp”

Last night Street Assist helped to respond to 16 call outs and nine welfare checks whilst also responding to two requests for assistance from Police Scotland.
