A woman has shared a 'little-known' button on washing machines that can help to ensure its drawer stay clean. Taking to popular Facebook group, Cleaning tips and tricks, the savvy woman, called Faith, shared her wisdom - leaving other users in awe.
Sharing a string of before and after pictures of her dirty to clean washing machine drawer compartment, she admitted she never knew the drawer itself could actually be removed from the appliance, to be clean separately. Faith said she only came about this when she stumble across a button, that when pushed down, would release the drawer.
And after seeing how grimy the drawer compartment was, she says she started scrubbing away with warm water, washing up liquid, a toothbrush and a cloth. Sharing the results, Faith wrote: "How on earth did I not know this drawer came out?!

"I'm not officially an adult and love cleaning haha! Thank you everyone for your cleaning tips and tricks". Many fellow members headed to the comment section to react, with several saying they also had no idea about the button, as reported by the Mirror.
Mandy replied: "They say you learn something everyday..... Well today I learned this thank you x." JJ asked: "Really this top section comes out???!"
Mary confessed: "Are you serious? I'm forever bashing my knuckles trying to clean the inside and your telling me this whole time I could have just simply pulled it out? Running off to try now."
Sofie asked Faith: "How do you clean the inside part though? And get rid of all that black grime? The drawer is, easy enough to clean as it pulls out but wat about the inside of where the drawer came from?" To which she replied: " I use a toothbrush (an old one that I use for cleaning not my partners."
Emma asked: "What causes the blackness behind the drawer? Don't know if I've just been lucky but never had it. I always just use powder." A fellow user called Janine responded: "Fabric softener is the main culprit. I now use white vinegar with a few drops of lavender oil instead of softener and never get the black mould any more."
Eileen suggested to others: "Always leave your dispenser drawer slightly open after wash as this helps reduce amount of mould you get." Meanwhile, Jayne made a joke about the whole post: "Doesn’t anyone read the manuals anymore," with a laughing emoji.
