An amused mum has shared hilarious footage of her young daughter refusing to get out of bed and get ready for school, and many people can relate all too well to her reluctance. After Lauren Turner, 30, headed into her five-year-old daughter Summer’s room to wake her up, she was met by grumpy protests rather than enthusiasm, with the schoolgirl being not exactly in the morning mood.
The video, which was filmed by Lauren, shows the mother and daughter bickering with one another as Summer sits upright in bed, absolutely fuming at having been disturbed from her slumber. Outraged Summer can be heard sulking, “You do that every single day! ‘Summer, wake up’ – you’re not letting me sleep", to which her mother responds, “But it’s school”.
Having absolutely none of it, Summer responds, “I’m still tired", before leaning back into bed and placing her head in her hands woefully.

After Lauren insisted she had to wake up for school, Summer can be seen practically glowering with indignation, snapping, “Every single day you wake me up.”
In response, Lauren told her: “Don’t look at me like that – I’m just doing what I’ve got to do to get you up and ready for school.”
However, young Summer wasn't convinced at all, staring her mum down and looking positively livid at what she appeared to regard as a very cheeky intrusion.
Lauren, from Hertfordshire, has since shared the amusing clip via TikTok, where it has since clocked up 2.2 million views and 290,000 likes. Many people feel they can relate to little Summer's plight all too well.
One person joked, “Honestly I feel the exact same way about my alarm clock", while another laughed, “This is the conversation I have with my alarms".
A third person sympathised, “As I teacher, this is exactly how I wake up every morning. I feel her so much", while a fourth added, “I feel her pain.”
Lauren, who runs events company BalloonsInWonderland, said: “I thought Summer’s reaction was hilarious as she really meant what she was saying. She gets a full night’s sleep but must have been super tired that morning. She’s a typical child who hates being woken up on a weekday but when it comes to a weekend she’s up at the crack of dawn.”
She added: “The reaction has been crazy but I totally get why it’s happened because it’s so relatable – that feeling of your alarm going off of being woken up by mum when you just want another hour is horrible!”
