'Little bit worried' - Gary Neville makes Leeds United relegation claim following weekend results

Gary Neville believes that Brentford and Leeds United are the two sides most at risk of being sucked into the Premier League relegation battle.

They currently sit 14th and 15th respectively but are both on poor runs of form – with Brentford having lost five of their last six matches, and Leeds two of their last three.

Six points separates Leeds from 18th place Norwich City, however they do have a game in hand, which could help open up some breathing space.

Brentford, meanwhile, are seven points clear of the bottom three, but have played more matches than anyone else in the bottom half and if results go against them, they could find themselves in real danger.

Speaking on the ‘ Gary Neville Podcast’, the former Manchester United defender is hopeful that Leeds and Brentford will stay up due to what they have offered the Premier League over the last two seasons but thinks they should be looking over their shoulders.

He said: “I think that Leeds could get dragged into it, but Brentford I’d be a little bit worried about because they’ve played more games. I do feel that Newcastle team, after that performance isn’t going down.

“So, for me, one or two of those sides, Leeds, and Brentford in particular, that could get dragged back into it if they’re not careful.

“They’d be big losses to the Premier League by the way, as any team would be as you don’t want to see anyone go down, but Brentford and Leeds have brought a lot in the last couple of seasons.

“I’ve always seen good games when those two teams have played but that won’t count for anything in this last third of the season. It’s going to be tough.”
