This is it: The final song we’ll hear from The Beatles.
It’s Now and Then, the single the remaining two living members of the band finished. But the song has all four of the Beatles on it — it came from a John Lennon demo tape, the same one Free As a Bird and Real Love (the two song the band released in the mid-1990s as part of the Anthology documentary) sprouted from.
George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr worked on Now and Then during that time, but ultimately never finished it, with some frustrations about Lennon’s voice unable to be separated from the rest of the mix.
Thanks to the AI that helped director Peter Jackson put together Get Back, Lennon’s voice could be separated. And now, we have one final single.
