A string of school closures have been announced across Merseyside this morning as snow continues to fall.
Yellow weather warnings were put in place for Merseyside by the Met Office yesterday, with heavy snow expected to cause disruption to road, rail and air travel. This morning, people across Merseyside woke up to blankets of snow across the region.
Wirral Council has announced that all council-provided school transport has been cancelled this morning, affecting schools all across the borough.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that the decision has been made to cancel council provided transport this morning. We will endeavour to bring home any residential pupils from out of borough providing it is safe to do so.
"We will liaise with the parents, drivers and schools concerned. The safety of the passengers, the driver and vehicle being the primary concern. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause."
