List of North East schools set to close due to teachers' strike on Wednesday

A number of schools in the North East are closing due to a teachers' strike on Wednesday.

Members of the National Education Union (NEU) are taking industrial action on February 1 in a dispute over pay, with further walkouts planned in February and March. Guidance from the Department for Education suggests agency staff and volunteers could be used to cover classes on strike days, with schools expected to remain open where possible.

However, some schools will need to close, while others will be partially shut. Here's a list of North East schools that we know will be affected so far. We will update this article as more schools announce their intentions.
