It is a "massive coup" for Lisburn BMX Club who have managed to squeeze in a quick visit from Bethany before she embarks on a new season of competition.
"Bethany will be here on Saturday and Sunday, February 4-5. She will take four clinics on the Saturday and another three on the Sunday," explained Lisburn BMX Club chairman, George Gordon.
"The youngest clinic will be for Under 10s, and the whole weekend is split across ages from six right through to 55. Riders from all over the island of Ireland will be attending, we have a good 20-30 coming from the south."
George explained how the visit came about, saying: "We have an ex-club member Gary Munday who went to school with me and was with our club during the 1980s. His family and Bethany's family travel the UK National series together.
"He knows Bethany very well and I am in regular contact with him. So after she won the Olympics I asked Gary would Bethany ever fancy coming over.
"The way things have gone she hasn't had time. She then contacted Gary a few weeks ago, and said she would be able to fit something in before her season starts.
"So we have managed to get things organised on short notice, and it is a massive coup for the club. We are delighted Bethany is coming over, and all the kids are so excited.
"She is also a World champion from 2020 and a former Junior Wold champion, so she has performed and won at the top level of the sport.
"There is also a Q&A session on the Saturday afternoon at the Island Arts Centre and a book signing, so it promises to be a great weekend.
"Everyone is invited to come along and watch the sessions on the Saturday and Sunday. Anyone taking part in the clinic has already signed up, but anyone can come and watch."
