Lisandro Martinez admits he will play wherever Erik ten Hag tells him to amid talk of a potential midfield role.
The Argentine joined Manchester United from Ajax last summer and despite doubts over his height, he has excelled in the back four. Martinez's aggression has helped him deal with the Premier League, but his ability to play out has also been cited as a major strength.
United's midfield options are being tested. Christian Eriksen is a long-term absentee through injury whilst Casemiro was sent off in the draw against Southampton at the weekend, meaning he will miss the next four games.
This has led to talk of Martinez playing in a slightly advanced role, despite the likes of Scott McTominay, Fred and Marcel Sabitzer also being options for Ten Hag. The Argentine has backed his team-mates to do a job if called upon but also maintained he would do what is asked.
The World Cup winner said: "We have many good midfielders. Like I have said in many interviews, I will play wherever the coach wants to use me."
United are still fighting on three fronts have already claimed the Carabao Cup - their first trophy since 2017. The Red Devils are looking to cement their spot in the top four whilst their gruelling schedule includes regular midweek games in the Europa League. They are also in the last eight of the FA Cup.
Martinez's hunger for success is as high as ever and the player is adamant that the expectation means the Red Devils must continue to deliver. He told the BBC : "For sure. We have really good players, we are Manchester United and Manchester United are meant to win every trophy. We have to work hard but we are doing it now. For sure, we have to go game by game and we have to believe and we have to fight for every title."

The centre-half also hailed the fans, who have taken him in since his arrival. "Football is passion, it is to play with your heart," he added. "I have that connection with the people and I have to keep going and keep with the connection. It’s very emotional for me [to hear chants about him]. To come here to the best club in England for me is a dream. I am so happy."
