Lisa Shaw's husband reveals she shared birthday with Boris Johnson - and spent final one following rules

The husband of BBC Newcastle radio presenter Lisa Shaw has condemned the Prime Minister for flouting coronavirus rules during the height of lockdown.

Gareth Eve lost his partner to complications from the AstraZeneca Covid jab in May 2021.

He revealed in a Tweet, tagging Boris Johnson, that Lisa and the Prime Minister shared a birthday and made clear his fury that a party took place at No.10 on her day of celebration in 2020.

It's claimed that the Prime Minister celebrated his own birthday surrounded by colleagues and family in June 2020, in a direct breach of the government's Covid rules.

While, as Gareth pointed out, Lisa spent what would be her last birthday following the guidance and distancing herself from her loved ones.

In the social media post on January 25, Gareth Eve said: "Hello @BorisJohnson. Did you know you shared a birthday with my wife Lisa Shaw? 19th June.

“In 2020 she didn’t have a birthday party with friends, family or colleagues. It turns out this was to be her last birthday. She died May 2021 after after taking the AZ Covid vaccine.”

Lisa was just 44 when she died at Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary, just over three weeks after her first dose of the vaccine.

A coroner found that Ms Shaw, who was an established radio personality in the North East, suffered blood clots in the brain which ultimately led to her death.

Lisa, who was originally from County Durham, began her career as a broadcast news journalist and radio presenter at Metro Radio.

Over the years worked at many of the region's radio stations covering Teesside, including Heart.

In 2012, she won a Sony Gold award for Best Breakfast Show in Britain for her show on Real Radio.

She joined BBC Newcastle in 2015, after 13 years at Global Radio.

The Prime Minister's birthday party is just one of the get-togethers expected to be addressed in a report by Sue Gray, which is expected to be delivered to Downing Street in the coming days.
