Lisa Riley has revealed when she will be back on screen in Emmerdale after suffering a personal tragedy that saw her miss the recent British Soap Awards.
A much loved member of the Emmerdale cast , Lisa first shot to fame as her iconic character Mandy Dingle in the 90s but is now once again right back at the heart of the action after Mandy made a return to the Dales and the bosom of the Dingle family. The Dingles are one of soap land's best known collectives and there was delight for the actors when they won the new Best Family accolade at this year's Best Soap Awards earlier this month.
While the likes of Marlon star Mark Charnock and James Hooton, who plays Sam, were at the London ceremony, Lisa wasn't and, collecting the award, James explained that Lisa was missing due to 'a family issue. ' Lisa herself took to Instagram to open up on why she was absent as fans voiced their concerns for the hugely popular star.

Earlier this week, Lisa returned to Instagram to post a smiling selfie, next to which she announced to her many followers that she'd been back on the Emmerdale set, writing: "Just finished filming a lovely day in studio at @emmerdale now on my way in the car, down south to film something else, for the day…..should be a REALLY good giggle, I’m looking forward for it."
Commenting underneath, one fan asked: "When are you back on Emmerdale you’ve not been in it for awhile," to which Lisa explained she'll be back on screen as Mandy in 'mid-July.'
Another fan told Lisa: "I miss you when you not in Emmerdale," with another replying: "Can't wait to see Mandy back in Emmerdale."
