Lisa Marie Presley 'wanted trust left to her children' as Priscilla contests the will

Lisa Marie Presley wanted her children to have access to her trust and for it to be managed by her oldest daughter Riley Keough, according to a close friend of the late star.

The singer's trust is being challenged by her mum Priscilla Presley, who claims she has been pushed out and replaced.

Legal documents have revealed that Priscilla, 77, is challenging a 2016 amendment to her daughter's trust which removed her and Lisa Marie's former business manager Barry Siegel as trust mangers.

Instead, they were replaced by Lisa Marie's children Riley and Benjamin Keough. Benjamin sadly died in 2020 at the age of 27.

"Lisa's intent was very clear. Lisa really didn't feel that Priscilla was doing anything in her best interest," the friend claims.

"Lisa lived her life authentically… She wouldn't remain quiet when she was being taken advantage of.

"At the end of the day, these are her wishes, and there's no question as to what her wishes were," Lisa Marie's friend told People.

The family conflict comes after Elvis Presley's only daughter Lisa Marie died earlier this month at the age of 54 after suffering two cardiac arrests.

She had been rushed to the hospital after CPR was performed at her home in Calabasas, Los Angeles, but sadly died.

Papers seen by the New York post, show that Priscilla is asking a judge to set aside a change made to Lisa Marie's trust which eliminates her as a trustee.

The document misspelled her mother's name and had a signature that appeared unusual, Priscilla's lawyers argue.

In a filing to the Los Angeles Superior Court, her lawyers said that she only became aware of the "purported 2016 amendment" after Lisa Marie's death.

Priscilla argues that the amendment was never delivered to her during her daughter's lifetime, as required by the will.

Her lawyers also argue that the amendment was neither witnessed nor notarised.

The challenge came less than a week after Lisa Marie's heartbroken family attended a public memorial service for the star.

During the service, Priscilla held back tears as she read a poem which was written by one of her granddaughters. Riley's husband also read a eulogy on behalf of his wife.
