Lisa Marie Presley had a whirlwind romance with Nicolas Cage - and one very expensive row.
The much-loved singer, the daughter of the legendary Elvis Presley and his former wife Priscilla, had four marriages, including two very famous faces.
Lisa Marie, who tragically died on Thursday at the age of 54, following a cardiac arrest, was married to Michael Jackson between 1994 and 1996 and then wed Cage in 2002.
She reportedly fell for the Hollywood actor while she was attending Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone's birthday party with her then-fiance, Hawaiian musician John Oszajca.
Nicholas, who was still married to Patricia Arquette at the time, seemingly fell head over heels for Lisa Marie.
Recalling the first time he saw her, the Face/Off actor said: "I walk into a party not knowing who I’m going to meet and there's this beautiful girl standing in the middle of the living room wearing this short leather skirt and this fluffy jacket, and she looks up at me with these big, beautiful, soulful eyes, eyes that look like they have a sad story to tell, and I just went 'Oh.'"
The future couple are said to have struck up conversation and onlookers noted their connection, which led to romance.
In May 2001, a month after Lisa Marie revealed she had ended a 16-month engagement to Oszajca, the pair went public with their relationship.
In August that year, Nicolas told Jay Leno: "She is a very honest person and I admire that quality."
They were known to have big rows, with the couple having a massive fight on a yacht which ended with Lisa Marie throwing her engagement ring in the ocean.
She reportedly launched the $65,000 six-carat yellow diamond ring into the sea off the coast of California then got a helicopter out of there.
Cage desperately tried to get the rock back and hired a team of divers to search for it in the water, but they had no joy.
Just two years into their "intense" relationship, the pair got married on August 2002 when they eloped to Hawaii, with Lisa Marie later admitting: "Marrying him was a wild flurry, a crazy idea and being young, and 'Ahhhh!'"
But Cage filed for divorce just 107 days later - with the marriage officially ending in 2004.
Giving an insight into their relationship during an appearance on Larry King Live in 2003, Lisa Marie said: "It looked attractive like I could be equal. Similar situations, similar backgrounds.
"So we connected, we had a great connection. We were both a bit - we're sort of these gypsy spirited, you know, tyrannical pirates."
However, it was this kind of attitude and mix of personalities that led to the marriage's downfall.
"And one pirate marries another they will sink the ship basically is what it comes down to," revealed Lisa Marie.
"It was kind of one of those things where you marry someone hoping - I mean we'd already had - we'd been together for two years before we got married, so - it was one of those things where you're marrying hoping that you're going to either stabilize it or it's going to, you know, accentuate all that was going on prior to what was problematic.
"So it kind of did the latter, that's all."
Another major issue that arose was Cage's adoration for Elvis, with claims he only married Lisa Marie because of his love for the King of Rock n Roll.
Cage had even based his outlandish performance in the David Lynch film Wild at Heart on Elvis.
Of the comparison to her father and its role in their relationship, Lisa Marie said: "I was sitting outside because he was in the tabloids there was all this Elvis fascination and Elvis obsession and I...I said I can't believe they are actually pulling it off with you now too.
"I'm dating you. And you've got, I don't know, over 50 movies... [An] Academy award, amazing actor, you're getting put off on some, as an Elvis freak because you did those, you know, whatever.
"He got annoyed, you know, and I got annoyed. I was like how can they, you know, they have to make it something.
"It's not, you know we cannot be because you're an Elvis freak, you know, thing. Which is said about both of us, actually."
The pair kept their relationship amicable when they legally ended their marriage in 2004, with Lisa Marie going on to marry music producer Michael Lockwood in 2006.
Sadly, Lisa Marie died this week - and Cage was one of the people who paid tribute.
In a statement, he said: "This is devastating news. Lisa had the greatest laugh of anyone I ever met. She lit up every room, and I am heartbroken. I find some solace believing she is reunited with her son Benjamin."
Paramedics rushed to her house in Calabasas and after being able to regain a pulse, they transported her to hospital, but sadly she died while receiving treatment.
Her mum Priscilla said in a statement: "It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
"She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment."
