Lisa Marie Presley has suffered several health scares over the years and stated she is "grateful to be alive" following her previous addiction to opioids.
The 54-year-old was reportedly rushed to hospital on Thursday night after paramedics responded to her home for a possible cardiac arrest.
Her condition is currently unknown.
Not only has Lisa Marie previously overcome a battle with addiction, she also suffered from 'excruciating back pain' which caused her to cancel several US tour dates.
The mum-of-four bravely opened up about her drug abuse in a book detailing the dangers of opioids, saying her problems started shortly after the birth of her twin daughters, Harper and Finley, back in 2008.
Her addiction came despite losing her father after he developed a "dangerous dependence on prescription drugs", and her ex-husband Michael Jackson after he too had a complication with drug use.
"You may read this and wonder how, after losing people close to me, I also fell prey to opioids," she wrote.
Lisa Marie added: "I was recovering after the birth of my daughters, Vivienne and Finley, when a doctor prescribed me opioids for pain.
"It only took a short-term prescription of opioids in the hospital for me to feel the need to keep taking them."
She continued: "Even in recent years, I have seen too many people I loved struggle with addiction and die tragically from this epidemic.
"It is time for us to say goodbye to shame about addiction. We have to stop blaming and judging ourselves and the people around us. That starts with sharing our stories."
"[I'm] grateful to be alive today… and to have four beautiful children who have given me a sense of purpose that has carried me through dark times," Lisa Marie added.
The singer-songwriter has also had to overcome chronic back pain, which forced her to cancel a series of shows back in 2014.
Her painful condition was thought to be aggravated by performing on stage.
At the time, TMZ reported that the Over Me star was "ordered by her doctor her to pull the plug because he feared her condition would worsen" if she performed.
Lisa is now thought to be spending time in hospital following a suspected cardiac arrest.
Paramedics performed CPR on Thursday after being called to her house in Calabasas before she was rushed to hospital.
They were able to regain a pulse before transporting her, according to TMZ.
