Lisa Armstrong could reportedly elope with her new boyfriend after her 'cringe' wedding to Ant McPartlin.
The couple first met in 1994, and after 10 years together, the Saturday Night Takeaway star popped the question while they were on holiday in Dubai.
They tied the knot in July 2006 at a country house in Buckinghamshire, with Declan Donnelly serving as Ant’s best man.
Sadly, the couple announced in 2018 that they were parting ways, and after a bitter divorce, they finalised a deal in 2020, as Ant reportedly agreed to hand over an estimated £31 million to his ex-wife.
Lisa, who also worked behind-the-scenes on Strictly Come Dancing, has been dating James Green since 2020, shortly after he split from his wife Kirsty.
Now, the star is said to be planning a summer wedding to her electrician boyfriend James, and is reportedly wanting to head to a remote island with close friends and family for an intimate ceremony.
The make-up artist wants the “complete opposite” of her first wedding, and has been “dropping hints” about eloping.
“She looks back at her wedding pictures with Ant and cringes, as it was so formal,” a source told Heat magazine.
Lisa is said to be aware of the possible comparisons her second wedding will have to her ex Ant, as he tied the knot with Anne-Marie Corbett in a star-studded ceremony in August last year.
She reportedly doesn’t want “anything big or traditional” as she thinks it’s “embarrassing”, especially as she and Ant already had a huge wedding when they tied the knot in 2006.
“This is a completely new chapter of her life - she wants something different,” they added.
Lisa and dad-of-two James went public with their romance last year, and have been together for more than two years.
Friends have said the 38-year-old is a “perfect match” for Lisa, and the couple are allegedly planning to cement their relationship with a wedding in a remote tropical location later this year.
“Neither of them feel like they have to put on a show - they just want to be with each other,” the source added.
