The Detroit Lions have added another offensive lineman to the den on Wednesday. Detroit signed Kayode Awosika to the team.
Awosika was previously on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad. He’s in his second NFL season out of Buffalo, signed by the Eagles as an undrafted free agent following the 2021 NFL draft.
He can play either guard or tackle, but Awosika is primarily a guard in his limited NFL stint. Because he’s signed to the active roster, the Lions have to make a corollary move to create an opening. This could be a real indication that RG Tommy Kraemer, who did not play in Week 1 and did not practice this week with a back injury, could be headed to injured reserve.
The Lions also brought OL Darrin Paulo back to the team’s practice squad.
