Lions met with DT Adetomiwa Adebawore at Northwestern’s pro day

Even as free agency swirls, the path to the NFL draft continues in full force with the pro day circuit. On Tuesday, the Detroit Lions met with a player who carries considerable intrigue as a Day 2 pass rushing option.

Northwestern DT Adetomiwa Adebawore met with the Lions around his stellar performance at Northwestern’s pro day. The 6-foot-2, 282-pound Adebawore put on quite an athletic showcase at the Wildcats’ indoor training facility with all 32 NFL teams in attendance.

His explosion metrics and speed are better than a lot of linebackers in this draft class, showing rare athleticism for a player who projects as a pass-rushing defensive tackle:

4.49 40-yard dash with a 1.61 10-yard split–the faster ever for a player over 270 pounds

37.5″ vertical

125″ broad jump

Adebawore also met with the Lions during Senior Bowl week, where he was one of the most dominant players in both individual drills and team periods.
