Thursday’s practice participation report from the Detroit Lions reflects a pretty healthy team entering the final regular season game. For the second straight day, three Lions players sat out practice.
The biggest name of the trio is center Frank Ragnow, but it’s not a surprise or real concern. Ragnow has sat out the first two practice sessions for months as he deals with an ongoing foot injury. The Pro Bowl center typically returns to practice on Friday as a limited participant and then plays on Sunday, and this critical week is not expected to be any different.
Reserve OL Kayode Awosika and veteran DL Michael Brockers both sat out Wednesday and Thursday with ankle injuries. Awosika has not played in a month, while Brockers is a healthy scratch since Week 5 in every game but the Week 11 matchup against the Giants.
Fullback Jason Cabinda sat out Wednesday but returned as a limited participant on Thursday with a knee injury. Starting safety DeShon Elliott was also limited for the second day in a row. Elliott has missed the last two games with a shoulder injury and he’s been missed in the defense. Starting right guard Evan Brown has also been limited with an ankle.
