It’s been pretty quiet on the outside free agent front in Detroit. So it’s notable when a veteran is making a free agent visit with the Lions as a potential signing.
Former 49ers EDGE Arden Key is making such a visit to Detroit on Monday. Key will be at the team’s training facility in Allen Park to see if the two sides can reach an agreement, per Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network.
Key is coming off his best season in 2021, his first in San Francisco. He notched 6.5 sacks and 22 tackles as a pass-rush specialist. It’s a big uptick from his three seasons with the Raiders, where he managed just three sacks in 37 games as a third-round pick out of LSU in the 2018 NFL draft.
The Lions have only signed two outside free agents in the first week of free agency. Wide receiver DJ Chark is the headliner, along with tight end Garrett Griffin
