The Detroit Lions have agreed to contract extensions with coach Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes, the team announced Thursday. Both deals will keep the duo in Detroit through the 2027 season.
“We are thrilled to have Brad and Dan under contract for the next four seasons,” Lions Owner Sheila Ford Hamp said in the release. “They have been the driving force behind the rebuild of our football team and the success that we have enjoyed. The continuity they provide for our football program will continue to be the key to our future success on the field.”
Both Campbell and Holmes joined the organization in 2021 and have enjoyed a steady increase in success over the last three seasons. In ’21, the team finished 3–13, improving to 9–8 the year after. This past season, the Lions finished 12–5, won the NFC North for the first time in franchise history and won their first playoff game since 1991 before losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC championship game.
Between their success in the draft and steady improvements on the field, the Lions appear poised to be perennial playoff contenders.
