The Detroit Lions made a big announcement about one of the greatest players in franchise history.
At halftime of their game Sunday with the Miami Dolphins, the franchise revealed it will be building a statue of great running back Barry Sanders at Ford Field.

Sanders played his entire 10-year career in Detroit and rushed for 15,269 yards. He scored 99 touchdowns on the ground. The Pro Football Hall of Famer led the league in rushing 4 times and averaged a stunning 5.0 yards per carry.
