Lionesses set for Dublin trip as England's Euro 2025 qualifying dates confirmed

England Women will take on the Republic of Ireland at the Aviva Stadium as part of their quest to qualify for Euro 2025.

The Lionesses have been drawn in a group alongside France, Sweden and the Republic of Ireland, with only the top-two finishers guaranteed a place at next summer’s tournament in Switzerland.

The dates for England’s qualifiers have now been confirmed and they will begin with a home match against Sweden on April 5.

The Lionesses will then travel to Dublin to face the Republic of Ireland, with the game taking place at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.

The ground, which holds over 50,000 people, will host England on April 9 and Ireland will also play Sweden there at the end of May.

After taking on Ireland, the Lionesses will host France on May 31, before four days later travelling to Saint-Etienne to face them at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard - which holds over 40,000.

Their qualifying campaign will finish in July with a home game against Ireland and a trip to play Sweden.

England are yet to confirm where they will play their home games, with venues and ticket details to be announced in due course.

“It's a tough draw but it is a really exciting draw,” said Lionesses head coach Sarina Wiegman.

“Of course, we all went into the draw knowing that Sweden – one of the top countries – would be in Pot 3 because of their Nations League performance in 2023 so with France, Sweden, and Ireland in our group, it will be very competitive.

“It's exciting and now we just have to show up and perform. For the fans and for football, it is really good because it will be so competitive.”
